SANAA, Yemen, A family of nine members were killed, in a fresh air strike, launched by Saudi-led coalition, on a house in Yemen’s north-west province of Hajjah, a provincial security official, said.
The air strike hit the family’s house in Mazra’ah village, in Kashar district.
The victims were mostly children. The residents distributed pictures of the victims through social media.
This is the latest air strike targeting civilians in the war-torn Arab country.
On Sept 6, a coalition air strike targeted a house in Alsadah village, also in Hajjah, killing six family members.
On Sept 3, two women and a child were killed and six others wounded, when another air strike hit a family’s home in Washahah district in Hajjah, according to local officials.
In Mar, 2015, the Saudi-led coalition intervened in the Yemeni conflict, to back internationally recognised government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, against Iranian-backed Houthis, which invaded the capital Sanaa militarily and seized most of the country’s northern provinces.
More than 10,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed in the war, that also displaced over three million, according to UN agencies.
