The branch of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Hajjah province in Hajjah province handed over the implementation sites of the integrated aid project for food security, water, environmental sanitation, and shelter for the population affected by the continuation of the status quo to the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC).
The project, which is implemented by the NRC and funded by the Humanitarian Aid Fund (OCHA), includes the construction of 550 improved shelters in a number of IDP camps in Abs district at a total cost of $417,000.
The council branch, the local council in Abs, and the office of the Rural Water Projects Authority also handed over the construction sites of 260 toilets with their accessories in al-Mesbar and al-Mahatrah camps in Abs to a contractor.
The project comes within the framework of the Integrated Assistance Project for Shelter, Water, Environmental Sanitation, and Camp Coordination implemented by the NRC in the districts of Abs and Aslam, funded by OCHA.
It includes the construction of a tower reservoir with a capacity of 60 cubic meters, and pumping and liquefaction networks for the beneficiary villages with a length of 6,200 meters at a total cost of the two projects and toilets in the two districts of $385,000.
