RIYADH, The Secretariat General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed Friday its "absolute rejection" and condemnation of the Israeli occupation forces' calls for the compulsory displacement of Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip.
In a press statement, the OIC strongly deplored preventing the delivery of relief supplies and basic needs to the Strip, considering this as a collective punishment and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.
In addition, it rejected attempts aiming at transferring the humanitarian crisis aggravated by the Israel occupation to the neighboring countries.
The organization renewed its call for the international community to move immediately and take effective measures to halt all forms of Israel's aggression on Palestinians that could lead of an unprecedented humanitarian disaster.
It further affirmed the need of allowing safe corridors to provide Gaza residents with their basic needs, according to the statement. (end) kn.mmj.hm
