Pan-European political party calls on EU to impose sanctions on Israeli occupation

BRUSSELS, The Democracy in Europe Movement 2025, or DiEM25, called Wednesday on the European Union to impose immediate sanctions on the Israeli occupation regime, after it bombed a hospital in Gaza in which over 500 civilians including many children were killed.

In a press release, DIEM25, condemned it as "one of the most inhumane and violent acts perpetrated by the Israeli Government that clearly violates the Geneva Conventions." It noted that Hananya Naftali, an adviser to the head of the Israeli occupation regime Benjamin Netanyahu, announced in a tweet the bombing of the hospital in Gaza by the Israeli Air Force, justifying the bombing because, he claimed, there were Hamas men hiding inside.

But as soon as they saw how many civilians were killed, he deleted this tweet and the Israeli occupation regime went on a disinformation campaign trying to blame the attack on Hamas, said DIEM25.

It published a photo-shot of the tweet.

DiEM25, is a pan-European political movement and political party founded in 2016 by a group of Europeans, including Yanis Varoufakis former Greek of Finance and Srecko Horvat a Croatian philosopher, author and political activist. It has an office in Brussels. (end) nk.mb
