Parliament Speaker Yahya Al-Ra’i sent on Saturday a congratulatory cable to Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena on the occasion of his country’s Independence Day.

The Independence Day in Sri Lanka is celebrated annually on the 4th February. Sri Lanka gained independence from the United Kingdom on February 4, 1948.
