People’s Congress welcomes Omani mediation efforts related to understandings in humanitarian file

The General Committee of the General People's Congress (GPC) held a meeting on Wednesday, chaired by GPC Speaker Sadiq bin Amin Abu Ras, to review and discuss the latest developments at the organizational and national levels.

The Committee affirmed that the People's Congress welcomes the positive results of the Omani mediation efforts with regard to the understandings related to the humanitarian file, which represent a positive start to provide a suitable ground to end the war that it has been waging against Yemen for eight years, lifting the blockade by land, sea and air, and achieving peace in a way that guarantees the unity, sovereignty and independence of Yemen.

The Committee also praised the efforts of the leadership and the national negotiating delegation and its efforts in this aspect, expressing thanks for the efforts made by the brothers in the Sultanate of Oman, which is not strange to the Omani brothers who have stood by Yemen throughout the past period.

The General Committee condemned the campaigns and lies practiced by some trumpets targeting the President of the Congress and his legitimate leadership in Sana'a. Stressing the commitment of the leadership of the Congress to the provisions of the rules of procedure with regard to any issues related to the work of the congress and its various compositions.

The General Committee selected Abdullah Majaidei' as Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs in accordance with the provisions of Article 128 of the Rules of Procedure of the Congress, which includes the vacancy of the position of Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs and Foreign Relations.

At the meeting, the President of the Congress reviewed the latest developments related to national aspects and the subject of the visit of the Omani delegation to Sana'a, and the results achieved in this aspect.

He referred to the false campaigns waged by some pens and paid personalities against the Congress and its leadership, stressing that they will not discourage the leadership of the Congress from continuing to maintain its unity and cohesion.
