Planting 2,000 Sidr seedlings in Mahweet inaugurated

The Agriculture and Irrigation Office in Jabal Mahweet district and the Agricultural Cooperative Society for Grain Producers have inaugurated the cultivation of 2,000 Sidr (the Lote Tree) seedlings to support livestock breeders in the district.

At the inauguration, director of district Khamash Hubaish and director of the Planning Department in the Agriculture and Irrigation Office in Maheet province Omar Fateh, stressed the importance of exploiting the natural ingredients to bring about an agricultural renaissance in the district to support honey producers and enhance its role in food security.

Hubaish and Fateh pointed out the importance of planting Sidr seedlings with the support of the General Administration of Forests and Combating Desertification in the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, as part of the community initiatives in the district and its role in providing bee pastures, which contributes to encouraging beekeepers and enabling them to benefit from the bee wealth in improving their standard of living.

They pointed out that the inauguration comes within the framework of a plan and the direction of the Agriculture Office to take care of the fertile valleys in order to reach self-sufficiency and achieve food security, in a manner that enhances steadfastness in the face of aggression and siege.
