His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Chairman of the Supreme Political Council, inaugurated Wednesday the Sana'a Coffee Exhibition and the marketing festival for Yemeni coffee in the capital, Sana'a.
President Al-Mashat, along with a member of the Supreme Political Council, Sultan Al-Sami'i, and the Prime Minister, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, cut the ribbon to mark the opening of the exhibition and the launch of the activities of the marketing festival for coffee.
His Excellency the President stressed the importance of opening the exhibition and the festival, because Yemeni coffee represents a global status and uniqueness with high flavor and taste.
He explained that Yemeni coffee is an authentic product known for its high quality and its association with the civilization of Yemen, pointing out that Yemeni coffee was famous worldwide by exporting large quantities to various countries of the world from the port of Mocha, which was known internationally as "Mocha Coffee".
The President urged Al-Mashat to pay attention to coffee cultivation, support farmers with seedlings and motivate them to plant this important cash crop, because of its role in supplying the national income in hard currency. He stressed the support of the Supreme Political Council for the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation and the relevant authorities in cultivating fruit trees, including expansion in planting coffee trees in all Yemeni provinces.
