SANAA, Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor has honored ICRC’s head of delegation in Yemen Franz Rauchenstein with the Prime Minister’s Shield on the occasion of ending his term in our country.
The honor comes in appreciation of the government in recognition of the efforts and actions Rauchenstein presented to the Yemeni people during his humanitarian duties term as the head of the mission.
The shield was handed over by Assistant Prime Minister for Humanitarian Affairs Mohammed al-Ameri during his meeting on Tuesday in Sanaa with the head of the mission, who conveyed to him the prime minister’s greetings and wishes for more success in his future work.
Rauchenstein expressed his thanks for this gesture, stressing that Yemen and its humanitarian tragedy will remain with him and will talk about it and its effects, expressing his confidence that the Yemeni ordeal is on the way to a comprehensive solution in the foreseeable future.
He expressed his appreciation for the cooperation of the National Salvation Government and various government agencies with the ICRC mission during the past period and its responsible keenness to strengthen the level of partnership to reduce health and humanitarian challenges.
