Project to enhance livelihood for economic recovery in Hodeida launched

A project in Hodeida province was inaugurated to promote live ways to recover the economic recovery, funded by the Islamic Relief Organization in coordination with the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training.

The project aims to contribute to reducing vulnerability and exposure to risk and promotes the steadfastness of crisis-affected communities in Yemen by creating sustainable livelihoods.

The first phase of the project,”cash for studying”, will be extended for four months for 780 families and “small grants” benefit for 150 families.

The project will also support 630 families with materials for small and smaller projects.

Governor Mohamed Qahim referred to the importance of the project, which will contribute to promoting the steadfastness of the affected communities and the siege through sustainable livelihood projects.

Qahim stressed the keenness of the local authority to provide facilities for these projects to ensure vulnerable and exile vulnerable families and crafts that help them improve their living conditions.

For his part, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Technical and Vocational Training Ali Zahra stressed the importance of implementing development projects of a sustainable nature, including ways of living as a priority for their direct results in alleviating the suffering of citizens as a result of the continued aggression and siege.

He pointed out that the selection of beneficiaries will cover the most vulnerable families and food insecurity through coordination with the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and the Islamic Relief Organization.
