The Works and Projects Sector in the Municipality of the capital Sanaa on Wednesday handed over site for project of paving streets in the capital Sanaa to implementing agency.
The implementing agency should start work on the paving of Sabra Street and Farwa market at Shaoub district at a cost of YR 85 million financed by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and implemented by the Public Works Project.
The Assistant Undersecretary for Mayor of Capital Sanaa for Works and Projects sector Engineer Abdulkarim Al-Houthi stressed the importance of implementing this vital project in the paving of the street and Souk Farwa, which will contribute to alleviating the suffering of the citizens and reduce the problem of overcrowding in the street.
Al-Houthi praised the support and funding of the United Nations Office for Project Services for a number of service and development projects in the different districts of the municipality of the capital Sanaa, especially in paving, restoration and maintenance of main streets and neighborhoods.
Al-Houthi also appreciated the efforts exerted by the Public Works Project in the implementation and supervision of these service projects in cooperation with the Secretariat of the Capital represented by the works and projects sector.
He stressed the importance of continuing to support and implement a number of projects needed by many neighborhoods and main streets.
In his turn, Director of the sub-district of the capital Sana'a and the province of Sanaa and al-Mahweet reviewed the project works engineer Munir Thabet the stages of the project paving stone, which will include paving an area estimated to five thousand square meters.
"This project should cover the streets from Al-Mashhad and Sabra Street to the end of the market Farwa, Shaoub district, " he added.
Eng. Thabet explained that the works project will hand over to the implementing agency during the near period another paving project in the same district.
He stressed that these service and development projects are part of a series of projects implemented by the works project in various districts of the capital Sanaa.
