The people of Hodeida province districts organized vigils after the Friday prayer, denouncing piracy against Yemeni fishermen.

They stressed that the practice of piracy against Yemeni fishermen in the Red Sea, carried out by the aggression coalition’s forces and its mercenaries, is part of the coalition’s unjust war on Yemen over eight years, amid a shameful international silence.

Statements issued by the participants in the vigils denounced all inhumane practices against the Yemeni people, including the fishermen, for whom the sea is a source of livelihood for them and their families.

The statements condemned the systematic looting of fisheries in the Red Sea by the aggression coalition, calling for taking all necessary measures to prevent the looting of fisheries wealth in the Red Sea.

In the vigil, which was witnessed by Al-Ridha Mosque in Al-Mina district, the first undersecretary of the province, Ahmed Al-Beshri, affirmed the Yemeni people’s rejection of the criminal practices carried out by the aggression and its pirates against fishermen, including kidnapping, physical attacks, confiscation of their boats, and not allowing them to practice fishing in Yemeni territorial waters.

Al-Beshri praised the steadfastness of the fishermen, despite the risks and targets they are exposed to by the aggression coalition, stressing that with their steadfastness they demonstrated to the world the extent of their adherence to their right to practice their profession and national sovereignty.
