Public Prosecution released 6,134 prisoners on occasion of Prophet’s birthday

The Public Prosecution Office in the Capital Sana’a and the provinces released 6 thousand and 134 prisoners, in implementation of the directives of the Revolution Leader and the Head of the Supreme Political Council, on the occasion of the anniversary of the Prophet’s birthday for the year 1444 AH.

Public Prosecutor Judge Dr. Muhammad Muhammad al-Dailami explained in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the release process took place during his field trip, as well as the heads and agents of the prosecution offices and the committee assigned by the office, to the central, reserve prisons and detention centers in security areas and police stations.

He pointed out that the field visit, which began at the beginning of the month of Muharram of the current Hijri year, and continues to this day, during which the conditions of the prisoners were inspected and the cases that deserved conditional release were examined after three quarters of the period and half of the term, and with guarantees for the detainees under investigation whose cases do not pose a threat to society.

The Public Prosecutor pointed out that two thousand 161 prisoners were released in the capital, Sana’a 142, and Al-Hodeida 635, Ibb 1, 320, Taiz 446, Hajjah 250, Dhamar 75, Al Mahwit 305, Al Bayda 165, Al Jawf 45, Raymah 23, and the Military Prosecution 14 prisoners.
The Public Prosecutor concluded his visits on Thursday to Al-Mansuriya and Beit Al-Faqih prisons, along with the Chief Prosecutor of Hodeida province, Judge Hadi Aida, and the primary prosecutors, in which he directed the release of 50 prisoners.

It is noteworthy that the visits of the Public Prosecutor to prisons in the provinces also included sensing the needs of the prosecutions, inspecting their work, ensuring the integrity of the procedures for controlling and investigating criminal cases, and the extent of commitment to entering their data and benefiting from the systems for the conduct of the criminal case and the movement of prisoners at the Public Prosecution.
