Qahim, redeployment team & UN mission visit Salif port

Hodeida Governor, Muhammad Ayash Qahim, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff – Head of the National Team for Redeployment, Major General Ali Hammoud Al-Mushki, the Chairman of the National Military Committee, Major General Yahya Al-Razami, and with them the head of the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeida Agreement, General Michael Beary, were briefed on the progress of work in Salif port.

Qahim, Al-Mushki, Al-Razami, and Michael Berry, along with the Vice-Chairman of the National Committee, Brigadier General Hussein Al-Deif, his deputy head of the United Nations Mission, Vivian Van de Beer, listened from the Vice-President of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Zaid Al-Washli, to a detailed explanation of the work in the port and its readiness to receive commercial and food ships.

Al-Washli called on the head of the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeida Agreement to work on implementing the outputs of the Sweden agreement represented in allowing the flow of materials, food and medicine commodities, lifting the restrictions imposed on the Red Sea ports, and putting pressure on donor countries to fulfill their commitments regarding the rehabilitation of the Red Sea ports affected by the aggression.

Qahim referred to the difficult conditions and humanitarian conditions experienced by Hodeida’s people as a result of the continuation of the aggression and the siege and the persistence of the aggression and its tools in breaches and violations of the enemy’s spy planes, which cause casualties in the province’s districts.

In turn Beary praised the activity and dynamism of the workers and the relentless movement witnessed by Salif port.

He stressed the mission’s continuation in exerting more efforts and coordinating with the concerned international bodies to fulfill their commitments to rehabilitate Red Sea ports.
