Qatari Amir tackles unrest in Gaza with Spanish PM

DOHA, Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad discussed on Thursday with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.

A statement from the Qatari Amiri Diwan said that Qatari leader received a phone call from the Spanish premier during which the two discussed bilateral relations and cooperation, in addition to tackling regional and international developments, namely unrest in the Palestinian occupied territories.

The Qatari leader affirmed his country's firm position in condemning all forms of targeting civilians and the need to make efforts to reduce violence, spare civilians the consequences of fighting, open safe passages in Gaza Strip for relief and humanitarian efforts, and ensure that the violence does not expand regionally.

For his part, the Spanish premier praised Qatari diplomatic efforts in the region and international arena.
