SANAA, Secretary General of the Higher Committee for Elections and Referendum (HCER) Mohammed al-Jalal on Thursday met with the directors of the branches of the Higher Committee for Elections in the capital Sana'a and the provinces, in which some of its constituencies will hold an election process to fill vacant seats.
During the meeting, a number of technical and administrative aspects were discussed, as well as the readiness of the branches to manage the electoral process to elect members of the House of Representatives in the vacant constituencies in 2019.
Secretary-General stressed the need for the directors of the branches of the Higher Committee for Elections to respect in high level their responsibility for the implementation of the electoral process in these difficult circumstances to assure the world that Yemenis practice the democratic process even during war and aggression.
He pointed out that the General Secretariat of the Higher Committee for Elections will work to address the existing problems and will adopt the outcome of the consultative meeting.
