SANA’A, Feb. 02 (Saba) – A meeting in the capital Sana’a was held on Monday to discuss mechanisms to facilitate and accelerate the signing of the renewal and extension of agreements to facilitate the humanitarian work in Yemen.
The meeting, chaired by Head of the International Cooperation Department at the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (SCMCHA) Manea al-Asal and included Deputy Director of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Crispen Rukasha, Yemen director of the Child Welfare Organization Xavier Joubert and Yemen country director for the Norwegian Refugee Council Mohamed Abdi, reviewed steps to facilitate and accelerate the signing of agreements according to the procedures and principles of the humanitarian work.
Al-Asal stressed the SCMCHA’s keenness to provide facilities in accordance with the principles and standards of humanitarian action, which ensure the achievement of the objectives of humanitarian action to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people as a result of the aggression and its siege.
He pointed out the need to work within the framework of the National Authority as one of the most important principles of humanitarian action, transparency, and continuous coordination to ensure that the course and objectives of humanitarian action are achieved.
