RSF announces extension of 72-hour humanitarian truce in Sudan

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) announced early Friday that it had accepted a cease-fire in Sudan and adhered to it, as well as accepting the extension of the truce for 72 hours, mediated by Saudi Arabia and the United States. "In response to US-Saudi mediation, we announce the extension of the truce for an additional 72 hours, in order to open humanitarian corridors, facilitate the movement of citizens and residents, and enable them to fulfill their needs and reach safe areas," the RSF said in a tweet on its official Twitter account. "We confirm our acceptance of the cease-fire request and our commitment to it," the RSF added.
