MOSCOW, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that Russia and Iran continue their cooperation in support of the efforts of the Syrian Arab Army to combat terrorism in addition to resolving the crisis in Syria.

"Cooperation between Moscow and Tehran in the fight against international terrorism is moving forward," Sergei Shoigu was quoted by the Russian news agency Novosti as saying at the start of his talks with his Iranian counterpart Amir Hatami in Moscow.

Shoigu pointed out that the ongoing work in the framework of the upcoming and scheduled talks on Syria within the Astana process with the participation of the guarantor countries, which includes Russia, Iran and Turkey, plays an important role in achieving progress in solving the crisis and restoring stability to Syria.
