MP Nawwar Saheli, representing House Speaker Nabih Berri, called, during the Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union's conference in Ankara, to back Lebanon's stability and economy, especially amid the massive presence of displaced Syrians and Palestinian refugees.
"In Lebanon, we are waiting for the decisive moment to meet the constitutional due dates, starting with the election of a president of the republic and legislation," he said.
Reminding of Israel's continuous occupation of Lebanese lands and threatening maneuvers, Saheli reiterated commitment to Resistance alongside the army and people.
"We call you to condemn Israel's continuous occupation of our lands, as well as violations of our sovereign borders, airspace and territorial waters," he said.
He also called the partaking states to back Lebanon's efforts to resume the implementation of UN resolution 1701.
"In the name of the Lebanese Parliament, I confirm our siding with the stability of our general Islamic system and with ceasing wars in our region," he added, highlighting the obligation to support the Palestinian cause.
Turning to Syria and Yemen, Saheli urged for the much-sought political solutions, the eradication of terrorism, and venturing into development and reconstruction.
