SANAA, The Supreme Committee for Elections and Referendum (SCER) on Tuesday held an extended consultative meeting with representatives of the political parties and organizations in the capital Sanaa.
The Committee reviewed preparations for holding of elections in 2019 to fill vacant parliamentary seats of 34 constituencies due to the death of their representatives in the Parliament.
The meeting touched on the terms of the supervision of the electoral process.
During the meeting, Vice-Chairman and members of the Committee responded to queries and observations made by representatives of the political parties on the arrangements to be undertaken by the Committee in light of the circumstances experienced by the country.
The Committee called on the political parties to participate actively in the electoral process, confirming its keenness on holding free and fair elections in accordance with the Constitution and the law.
