The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation (SCMCHA), Abdulmohsen Tawoos, met on Wednesday with the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen William Gresley.
During the meeting, the humanitarian situation in Yemen was discussed as a result of the continuing aggression and blockade, which caused the world’s worst humanitarian crisis, which reached dangerous levels.
In the meeting, Tawoos noted that the reduction and non-disbursement of food aid have exacerbated the humanitarian situation and the high rate of food insecurity, as waves of displacement continue.
He pointed to the need to raise food aid quotas in all provinces and re-spend them on a monthly and continuous basis to avoid slipping into dangerous stages.
He stressed the handling of the import of food shipments, some of which reach the port of Hodeida, which are not compensated to citizens with valid shipments.
