SCMCHA: SFD disburses emergency cash transfers for 1.5 million beneficiaries

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation (SCMCHA) on Sunday confirmed that the total number of the beneficiaries of the emergency cash transfers- stage 14 are 1.5 million of social security cases, who received an amount of YR 22 billion.

Ibrahim Al-Hamli explained, in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that the disbursement of the 14th stage of the emergency cash transfer project funded by the World Bank (WB) through the Social Fund for Development (SFD) began last Monday and will continue until December 27.

He pointed out that the project comes within the framework of the Council's efforts to alleviate the suffering of the beneficiaries and those affected by the repercussions of the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, which the Yemeni people are experiencing, as a result of the aggression and siege.

He pointed out that the disbursement process included beneficiaries from the people with special needs and the elderly.

Al-Hamli emphasized that the SCMCHA worked to facilitate the disbursement through providing field teams for home delivery, and 2000 centers in various provinces, according to an integrated plan to facilitate the disbursement procedures.
