Shura Council Health Committee discusses issues related to drug security

The Public Health and Population Committee of the Shura Council held a meeting today,Wednesday, headed by the Speaker of the Council, Muhammad Hussein Al-Aidaroos. The meeting, which included the head of the committee, Dr. Fikri Al-Aqrabi, his deputy, Dr. Ali Al-Moayyed, the head of the Supreme Pharmaceutical Authority, Dr. Ali Abbas, and the head of the Authority's pharmaceutical stock, Dr. Ibrahim Abu Talib, discussed topics related to drug security and the strategic stock of medicines and medical supplies. At the meeting, the Speaker of the Shura Council appreciated the efforts of the Supreme Pharmaceutical Authority and its direct supervision in determining the list of imported medicines. Al-Aidaroos stressed the importance of intensifying efforts and tightening control to limit the entry of smuggled medicines and not granting licenses to non-specialized pharmacists, as this may result in risks and complications that could kill members of society. He urged the committee to coordinate with the Supreme Authority for Medicines to prepare the report , include the difficulties, obstacles, and proposals for appropriate treatments to advance the pharmaceutical sector.
