Today's meeting of Shura Council, chaired by the Council's deputy speaker, Abdo Muhammad al-Jundi, discussed ways to find a coordination mechanism with the media.

The meeting, which included the Vice-Chairman of the Media, Culture, Youth and Sports Committee of the Council, Dr. Hizam al-Assad, members and the Secretary General of the Council, Ali Abdel-Moghni, reviewed the draft coordination mechanism with the media according to the matrix of the implementation plan of the national vision.

The meeting listened to the presentation of the preparing team the coordination mechanism on the contents of the study prepared for this purpose in terms of axes related to the role of the various media outlets and their relationship to the Shura Council.

The meeting stressed the need to work on identifying shortcomings with regard to the media's handling of the Council's activities and to develop appropriate remedies in accordance with the state's general media frameworks and policy.

The conferees stressed the setting up importance of an appropriate mechanism to shed media light on the various issues dealt with by the Shura Council and to highlight its role in various national, religious and social issues.

The meeting approved assigning the Media Committee and the team preparing the coordination mechanism to prepare for holding a workshop with various media outlets to determine aspects of coordination in line with the Council's legal and constitutional tasks related to sponsoring the press.
