Members of the Supreme Political Council Sultan al-Samee and Jaber al-Wahbani on Wednesday stressed the importance of rehabilitating Taiz International Airport, given its important humanitarian role in the field of civil aviation.
Al-Samee and al-Wahbani stressed, during their visit to Taiz Airport, along with Deputy Prime Minister for National Vision Affairs Mahmoud al-Junaid, Minister of Transport Abdulwahab, al-Durrah and governor of Taiz Salah Bajash, the need to preserve the airport campus in a way that serves the public interest.
In turn, the Minister of Transport pointed out that the aggression destroyed Taiz airport due to its knowledge of its importance and the humanitarian services it provided to travelers.
Al-Durrah explained that the Civil Aviation Authority is preparing a plan to rehabilitate the airport in two phases, for critical and ideal conditions, in accordance with international standard requirements and recommendations of the International Aviation Organization (ICAO).
While the governor of Taiz emphasized the interest of the local authority in preserving the campus of Taiz International Airport and ensuring the success of projects that would serve the province, including the rehabilitation of the airport.
Al-Samee, al-Wahbani, al-Durrah, and Bajash inspected the runway of Taiz airport and its various facilities and were briefed on the damages and losses resulting from the aggression coalition’s bombing of it and directed the specialists to do the necessary work to rehabilitate Taiz airport.
