SANAA, The Standing Committee of the General People's Congress (GPC) Thursday held its regular session in Sanaa under the slogan "Together to maintain the cohesion of the GPC and its organizational unit and enhance its role in defending the country, its unity, sovereignty and independence."
The session was held chaired by Head of GPC, Sadeq Amin Abu Ras.
At the opening of the session, the President of the General People's Congress stressed the importance of this meeting not only in the march and history of the General People's Congress, but also in Yemeni history in general, referring to the size and sequence of challenges and conspiracies facing the GPC.
"This war was imposed on Yemen and it has no reason, no excuses, It is an unjust war that does not differentiate between the child and the fighter, and does not differentiate between the mourning halls and the wedding halls," he said, while reviewing statistics for victims of the unjust war on Yemen during four years.
Abu Ras reiterated the positions of the GPC against aggression, pointing to the desire of aggression to prolong the war through attempts to clone the legitimate institutions and establish alliances.

He added: "No matter how we disagree with them, we are in one trench and hands in the face of the saudi-UAE-led coalition aggression and we will not abandon them.
He stressed that Yemeni unity is the fate of all. "if we were two parts before we unite in one body, they want today to divide us to six," he said.
The president of the GPC saluted all the occupation resisters in the southern and eastern provinces.
"The so-called legitimacy is unable to secure 70 kilometers, even the protection of passengers on Abr road, where the people are exposed daily to looting," he said.
He addressed the so-called legitimacy by saying, "Is it sufficient to harvest four years of war?" Considering that it is the legitimacy of the outside and not the legitimacy of Yemen.
He called on the leaders of the Arab Peninsula countries to rearrange their policies and respect the peoples and non-interference in the affairs of other countries, recalling the roles of Yemenis in Islamic conquests throughout history.
The final communique issued by the Standing Committee of the GPC affirmed the adherence of the General People's Congress and its defense of the national constants represented by the revolution, the republican system, the Yemeni unity and the democratic approach, and rejected any attempts or plots aimed at tearing up Yemen and stirring separatist, regional, sectarian or regional strife among people.
The statement stressed the importance of stabilizing the unity of the internal front in the face of aggression and the need to unite the ranks of the national forces resisting the aggression, in forefront of which the Ansaruallah Movment and the General People's Congress.
The Standing Committee expressed its condemnation of all the occupation practices carried out by the forces of aggression in some Yemeni provinces and their violations against the citizens, especially in Socotra, Mahara, Hadramout and Aden provinces.
On the organizational level, the statement stressed that the General People's Congress will remain a unified organization under his organizational and political leadership in the capital Sana'a represented by its president Sadiq Amin Abu Ras, the General Committee and the General Secretariat, which will manage the General People's Congress affairs until finding appropriate conditions for holding the Eighth General Conference to GPC with the participation of all members and leaders of it, which will take the task of electing a new leadership.
The Standing Committee affirmed its total and absolute rejection of any decisions or positions taken in the name of the GPC abroad in contravention to the rules of procedure and the bylaws, stressing that they express only those who adopt those stances.
On the external level, the Committee renewed the rejection of the absolute GPC of all forms of normalization with the Zionist entity from any body, system or state as a form of circumventing the central issue of the first Arab and Islamic nation, the Palestinian issue.
It stressed its supportive position for the Palestinian people to resist the Zionist occupation and achieve its legitimate right to establish an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds "Jerusalem" as its capital.
The Standing Committee strongly condemned the American administration's decision to transfer its embassy to occupied Al-Quds as the capital of the occupied Zionist entity and its declaration of the occupied Syrian Golan as a part of Israel, as violation of the resolutions of international legitimacy and a blatant violation of international conventions.
The Committee endorsed the chairmanship of Sadiq Amin Abu Ras as Chairman of the General People's Congress, the election of Sheikh Yahya al-Ra'i as First Vice-President of the CGP, Dr. Qassim Labouza, Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh as Vice-Presidents, Ghazi Ahmed Ali Al Ahwal as Secretary-General, Jaber Abdullah Ghalib as Assistant Secretary-General and Fatimah al-Khatary as Assistant Secretary-General to the Women Sector.
The Standing Committee also approved the escalation of Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, Awad Aref al-Zouka, Ahmed al-Maqar, Hassan Ahmed al-Haig and Abdul Wahid Salah, to the membership of the General Committee.
