The office of the General Authority for Zakat in Hodeida province in cooperation with the Humanitarian Development Foundation, inaugurated on Thursday the fourth phase of the emergency surgical operations project for patients with kidney failure in Hodeida.

The project, which is implemented under the supervision of the Public Health and Population and Social Affairs and Labor Offices, aims to perform 300 surgical operations over the course of the year 1444, funded by the General Authority for Zakat and the branch of the Oil Company in the province.

During the inauguration, director of the Zakat Authority office in Hodeida Jamal al-Hemyari explained that the project’s support is part of humanitarian projects adopted by the authority, within the framework of Zakat banks, including the construction of a center for kidney medicine and transplantation.

Al-Hemyari pointed out that the project, which was launched on the occasion of the anniversary of the Prophet’s birthday 1444, will continue for a whole year and benefit patients with kidney failure in Hodeida and the neighboring provinces of Hajjah, Mahweet and Raymah.

Al-Hemyari called on businessmen to take the initiative in paying Zakat, as today it is spent in the eight legitimate categories specified in the Book of Allah.
