ISTANBUL, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday signed Sweden's NATO accession protocol.
The protocol was submitted to parliament to set a date for vote during a general assembly, according to Turkiye's Communications Directorate.
After Russia had launched its military action in Ukraine in February 2022, Finland and Sweden applied for NATO membership.
All NATO members, including Turkiye, must approve any new members of the alliance. (end) ta.mt
