RIYADH-- The Saudi Arabian-led coalition announced on Friday the interception of a missile shot by Houthi militias in Yemen towards the border city of Jazan, Xinhua news agency reported.
"The missile was intercepted and destroyed by Saudi air forces on Thursday evening. No injuries were reported,'' said the coalition's spokesman Turki Al Maliki in a statement via Saudi Press Agency.
On Wednesday, the coalition said that 23 civilians were injured after shrapnel of an intercepted missile fell on them in Najran.
The two cities of Jazan and Najran have been targeted by a total of 190 missiles since the start of the Yemen war in 2015. Most of them were intercepted without reporting any injuries or damages.
Al Maliki warned that militias and those who transport missiles would be punished.
