SANAA, US President Donald Trump on Wednesday threatened to send an armed force to the US border with Mexico on the grounds that it was not doing enough to stop the influx of illegal immigrants.
Trump said in a tweet on his official Twitter account that Mexican soldiers have recently threatened using their weapons US National Guard soldiers, "perhaps as a tactic to mislead drug smugglers on the border," he said.
"It is better not to happen again. We will send an armed force to the border," he said, noting that "Mexico is not doing enough to arrest migrants and return them."
Mexican troops questioned two US soldiers on April 13 during a surveillance operation.
"A large convoy of more than 20,000 people crossed Mexico and despite its shrank size in Mexico, it is still progressing," Trump said today, stressing that Mexico should seize the rest of these people. " otherwise we would have to close this part of the border and call the army, "He added.
Trump earlier this month announced the possibility of closing the border with Mexico but later expressed his preference for customs duties sanctions.
