SANAA, Minister of Water and Environment Nabil Abdullah Al-Wazir affirmed on Sunday the keenness of the ministry to intensify the rehabilitation and training programs for the employees of his ministry, as well as all its affiliated bodies and institutions.
Eng. Al-Wazir pointed out, during the opening of the activation session in the field of field collection of water bills using PDAs as well as the results and outputs review for the year 2018, which was organized over two days by the Water and Sanitation Local Corporation in the capital in cooperation with Yemeni-German Cooperation in Water sector GIZ, the importance of the functions and work of water institutions in the main cities and their role in providing clean water to citizens.
He pointed to the development witnessed by the local corporation in the capital stressing the level of performance and efforts to provide more services with the support and attention of the ministry and donors.
The Minister of Water and Environment stressed that the efforts to develop the collection mechanism using field technical equipment reflect the desire to develop the mechanism of work and facilitate the previous routine procedures, which leads to the expansion of the use of technology in the collection of financial and stimulate the stagnation in the subject of revenues.
He urged participants to take advantage of the course's themes and apply what they received in practice.
For his part, the Director General of the Water and Sanitation Local Corporation in the capital Sanaa, Engineer Mohammed Al-Shami, reviewed the axes and objectives of the course and its importance in the qualification of capacity in the field of revenue collection using technology.
Al-Shami pointed out that this course, which is attended by 47 trainees from the employees of the corporation, is the first stage in a training program implemented by the corporation in cooperation with GIZ.
