A training workshop was held in Dhamar province on Tuesday for the teams implementing the conditional cash transfers project in nutrition in al-Manar district, implemented by the Social Fund for Development in Dhamar and Bayda provinces through the Yemen Commercial Bank, funded by an additional World Bank Grant to Strengthen Social Protection.
120 male and female trainees of the assigned teams of 75 centers in various regions of al-Manar district participated in the workshop.
Deputy governor Abbas al-Amdi stressed the importance of the project in enhancing community awareness of the health aspects related to nutrition and the role of proper nutrition in strengthening the immunity of the mother and child and building a healthy generation free of diseases.
Deputy Director of the Social Fund for Development in Dhamar and Bayda indicated that the one-year project aims to strengthen the capabilities of the target groups to face the high prices and living conditions caused by the continued aggression and siege.
In turn, director of the Yemeni Commercial Bank branch in Dhamar Mohammed al-Qadhm indicated that the project targets 10,620 women to benefit from cash grants in exchange for food, provided that they attend the monthly educational session, and employ 301 girls as community educators for a year.
