ADEN, Several military officials were killed and the Yemeni army chief of staff among dozens of other prominent personnel are believed to have been injured in a drone attack Thursday, according to an RT report.
The target of the strike was a military parade on the airbase in the southern al-Anad region of the Lahij Province.
Al Arabiya news reported that five people were killed. The attack has been confirmed by Houthi media.
Only days ago, British aid agency Oxfam disclosed that the United Nations (UN)-brokered peace deal in Yemen's port city Hodeidah appeared to be unraveling due to the vagueness of the text.
In November, the Houthis had pledged they would cease drone and missile attacks in accordance with the terms of the peace deal, but have now rescinded the offer due to rising tensions regarding how to effectuate the process, multiple reports have stated.
In December 2018, the UN Security Council approved the deployment � for an initial 30 days � of an advance monitoring team.
Peace talks were hosted by Sweden to attempt to put an end to the nearly four-year-old war which rages in the country.
