HAJJAH, The Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (SCMCHA) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) have discussed ways to enhance health cooperation in Hajjah province.
Director of SCMCHA’s branch in Hajjah province Allan Fadhael and the ICRC health coordinator in Sa’ada province Ms. Julia reviewed the ICRC’s health interventions in the dialysis center of al-Jumhori Hospital, which is the only center in the province that provides services to dialysis patients, who come from many neighboring provinces.
They also reviewed the assistance the ICRC can provide for the Yemen Red Crescent Society Branch in Abs district in order to alleviate the suffering of the displaced and conflict-affected people.
Fadhael stressed the importance of expanding the cooperation with the ICRC and increasing its support to the dialysis center and the Red Crescent Society in the province, appreciating the efforts made by the ICRC in the health sector.
For her part, the ICRC official noted that the visit aims to follow up on the previous ICRC activities and identify the province’s needs in health field, hailing the facilitations provided by the SCMCHA to the ICRC activities.
