HODEIDA, The head of the General Authority for Fisheries in the Red Sea discussed on Tuesday with the Economic Security Representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Hodeidah the ICRC support that it can provide to the fisheries sector.
Hisham al-Dane’e and the ICRC economic security representative touched on the needs of the fish sector and the centers affiliated to the authority which could contribute to increasing fish production.
Al-Dane’e stressed the importance of providing fishing equipment for fishermen as well as the importance of the international organization’s support for the fishing sector in Hodeida.
He indicated that the authority is ready to cooperate with the ICRC in the province to implement economic empowerment projects to serve the fishermen.
On his part, the ICRC economic security representative indicated the need to achieve more coordination between the Authority and ICRC in order, affirming the ICRC’s interest in the fish sector.
