SANA’A, The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (SCMCHA) met on Tuesday with the Director of the Emergency Electric Power Project for Rural and Peri-Urban Areas at the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
Abdul Mohsen Tawoos and Zeyad al-Jabri discussed aspects of providing solar energy to rural and semi-urban areas to contribute to the implementation of agricultural activities by alternative energy means.
Tawoos stressed the need to pay attention to rural and semi-urban areas in order to promote the agricultural and service sector, indicating the alternative energy is one of the first steps to support the agricultural sector in Yemen.
In return, al-Jabri stressed the keenness of the UNOPS to implement such projects in a way that alleviates the suffering of the rural community, emphasizing the importance of coordination to face the challenges and move forward in achieving common goals in the agricultural field.
