SANAA, Yemen, Yemen's Houthi rebels said they launched multiple drone attacks on a Saudi military base, in the Saudi Arabia's south-western province of Asir, late Monday night, the rebels' TV al-Masirah reported.

The attacks targeted King Khaled Airbase in Khamis Mushait city of Asir, the Houthi television said.

There was no confirmation from Saudi Arabia.

It was the latest drone attacks claimed by the Yemeni rebels against Saudi border cities and facilities. Most of the drone and missile attacks had been intercepted and destroyed by the Saudi air defence forces.

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have been leading an Arab military coalition against Yemeni Houthi rebels, in support of Yemen's internationally recognised President, Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, over the last four years.
