YSMO launches inspection campaign for warehouses of WFP, merchants in Hajjah

The Yemen Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control Organization (YSMO) has launched a field visit campaign to merchants and the World Food Program’s warehouses in Hajjah provinces.

The YSMO explained that the campaign will be implemented in coordination and cooperation with the branch of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs and the local authority in Hajjah.

It pointed out that the campaign aims to verify the application of the requirements of food stores to educate merchants on storage methods that conform to the approved standard specifications.

The YSMO pointed out that one of the most important requirements for warehouses is to provide full lighting and pallets away from sources of pollution, heat and sunlight.

It confirmed that it is continuing to redouble efforts to raise the level of inspection and control to ensure consumer protection at all levels in the various provinces.
