Sana'a: The Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council received a request from Al-Rasheed Smart University for technical support to ensure the quality of seven academic programs, including Medical Laboratory Sciences, Information Technology, Graphics and Multimedia, International Business Administration (English), International Business Administration (Arabic), Accounting (English), and Accounting (Arabic).
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Ahmed Al-Huboub, Chairman of the Academic Accreditation Council, and Dr. Abdul Latif Haidar, President of the University, signed an agreement to formalize this request. The agreement was duly endorsed by the university's authorized representative and aims to provide technical support for these programs, preparing them for national program-level accreditation.
The agreement mandates the university to commence a self-assessment of the programs in accordance with the Program Accreditation Standards Guide and templates issued by the Council. The Council will offer technical and advisory support to assist in preparing the self-study report and supporting documents to ensure the programs' quality and readiness for national accreditation.
Dr. Al-Huboub noted the university's progress in meeting accreditation requirements, indicating that this step would lead to on-site visits by Council committees to provide technical support, review files, assess readiness, and conduct training workshops. He highlighted the importance of resources, a clear reference framework, and sound management in achieving quality, expressing confidence in the university's potential for national recognition.
Dr. Haidar expressed gratitude for the Council's leadership and achievements in modernizing academic programs and providing support for self-assessment in Yemeni universities. He emphasized the university's commitment to quality principles and its progress in developing programs aligned with accreditation standards, equipped with modern facilities and resources in tune with global advancements.
