The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC), in cooperation with Tkiyet Um Ali (TUA), a donation platform in Jordan, has kicked off a campaign to distribute food parcels to impoverished families nationwide. According to an ACC statement Wednesday, the aid was handed over to beneficiaries at the TUA's Amman Distribution Center within the joint memorandum of understanding to support its programs and activities in helping needy households. The two sides signed a memo to distribute food parcels to about 1,428 underprivileged families in various governorates of the Kingdom, which also engages ACC members in voluntary activities to deliver aid. Member of the ACC Board of Directors, Falah Sagheer stated that today's campaign to distribute aid is the first stage, while the remaining parcels will be distributed to the governorates during the current month based on a TUA timetable. For his part, TUA Director General, Samer Balqar, said it pays special attention to enhance cooperation prospects with private sector instituti ons, based on its belief in the necessity of involving various parties in supporting sustainable food support programs. Tkiyet Um Ali is currently providing sustainable food support to 20,000 families living below the food poverty line countrywide by distributing monthly food parcels containing 20 food items.
