Sanaa: Acting Prime Minister Mohammed Miftah engaged in discussions with Minister of Health Dr. Ali Shaiban and Deputy Minister Dr. Nasher al-Qoud to explore strategies for enhancing the health sector’s performance and addressing ongoing challenges.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting focused on reviewing the ministry’s 1447 AH plan, highlighting the obstacles faced by medical, technical, and administrative staff, and emphasizing the importance of boosting public health awareness to prevent diseases. Miftah underscored the ethical and national responsibilities of the health sector, commended emergency teams for their efforts in treating victims of Zionist aggression, and advocated for stronger preventive care measures and continuous performance evaluations across both public and private health institutions.
The health minister and his deputy briefed the Acting Prime Minister on the current state of the health sector, detailing the Ministry’s efforts to strengthen and improve performance despite ongoing challenges and resource limitations. They emphasized a commitment to enhancing coordination with stakeholders at central and local levels to improve health and environmental services.
Officials highlighted the progress of the emergency medical training plan, which successfully trained 15,000 health personnel to enhance emergency response capabilities. They also discussed the severe impact of the U.S.-Saudi-Emirati aggression and blockade on Yemen’s health sector and outlined the Ministry’s efforts to mitigate the associated challenges. The Ministry reaffirmed its determination to implement annual plans and programs to improve health services and treatment across the nation.
