Addressing Conditions of Prisoners in Sana’a

Sana’a: The Supreme Judicial Council held its weekly meeting, presided over by the Council Chairman, Judge Dr. Abdul-Momen Shuja’ al-Din. During the meeting, the Council focused on the critical issue of prisoner conditions in Sana’a.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Council reviewed a comprehensive report prepared by a joint committee comprising the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, the Public Prosecution, and the Judicial Inspection Authority. This committee was tasked with inspecting the conditions of prisoners, remand prisons, and central reformatories. They aimed to address the current conditions and facilitate the release of those prisoners who are legally entitled to freedom.
