Sa'ada: Sa'ada governor Mohammed Awad has launched the afforestation season in Sa'ada city, as part of efforts to improve the urban environment and expand green spaces. The initiative is being implemented by Sa'ada Cleaning and Improvement Fund, with the participation of local officials.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the launch, the governor stressed the importance of planting trees along city streets and making the most of the rainy season by cultivating both fruit-bearing and ornamental trees to enhance the city's appearance. He praised the efforts of the fund's leadership and workers in improving public cleanliness and urban aesthetics, noting the noticeable progress in its performance across various activities.
For his part, Najeeb al-Sa'adi, Director of the Fund, said the plan includes planting at least 1,300 diverse trees, including fruit and ornamental varieties, as well as replacing damaged ones. He added that the campaign will also rehabilitate approximately 9,000 square meters of soil in median strips and plant them with suitable crops, contributing to environmental improvement.
Al-Sa'adi highlighted the importance of tree planting in preserving soil stability, reducing erosion, purifying the air, and enhancing the overall aesthetic of Sa'ada governorate.
