Sana'a: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources confirmed that the continued aggression and blockade against Yemen have caused economic losses estimated at billions of riyals to the agricultural and fisheries sectors.
According to Yemen News Agency, the ministry stated that the aggression and blockade have severely damaged various economic and productive sectors, particularly agriculture and fisheries. This includes targeting infrastructure and production facilities, disrupting production, marketing, and export activities, and restricting access to agricultural and fisheries inputs.
The ministry emphasized that these practices have directly impacted food security and the livelihoods of millions of Yemenis, causing significant harm to farmers, fishermen, and service and production facilities across the provinces.
In response to the situation, the statement welcomed the recent announcement by the armed forces to impose a maritime navigation ban on Saudi Arabia. The ministry described this measure as part of the response to the ongoing blockade and aggression, reflecting the Yemeni people's right to defend their sovereignty and national interests.
The ministry also praised the widespread popular support expressed by Yemenis during various mass events and called for an end to the blockade and attacks. It emphasized that halting these actions would contribute to the restoration of economic activity, strengthen food security, and support sustainable development efforts.
