Sanaa: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources has confirmed the ongoing ban on the importation of frozen chicken, as part of its strategy to bolster local production and support national poultry farmers. This move aims to protect domestic output and provide encouragement to small-scale poultry producers.
According to Yemen News Agency, the ministry's statement highlighted that this decision is aligned with efforts to achieve self-sufficiency based on directives from the revolutionary leadership and the President of the Supreme Political Council. It follows the Government of Change and Construction's program, which is focused on reducing import costs and enhancing local production capabilities.
The ministry's statement reiterated that the ban on frozen chicken imports remains firmly in place, with no shipments permitted entry into the country. This measure emphasizes the importance of unifying national efforts to protect local production, stabilize the market, and ensure consumers have access to healthy and safe food alternatives.
The Ministry of Agriculture praised initiatives to purchase and stock local chicken, viewing this as a critical support mechanism for small-scale farmers and a significant contributor to market stability.
