Al-Ahli Sana’a Appoints Ekramy Metbouli as New Head Coach in Strategic Move

Al-ahli sana'a: Al-Ahli Sana'a Club held a press conference today to officially introduce the new head coach of its first football team, Egyptian coach Ekramy Metbouli. During the conference, the club's Secretary-General, Mohammed Al-Yarimi, welcomed the new coach, affirming that the management will fully support him in his upcoming mission to lead the team with the aim of winning the First Division League title, set to kick off on April 9. He expressed the club's strong confidence in the coach's technical abilities to continue the success that reflects the stature and legacy of Al-Ahli Sana'a.

According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Yarimi also praised former coach Jamal Al-Qadeemi for his efforts, noting that last season's league title under his leadership remains a bright milestone in the club's history. For his part, coach Ekramy Metbouli expressed pride in taking charge of the team, stating that signing with the club did not take long due to its rich history and significant achievements. He said: 'I am extremely happy to return to Yemen, a country I hold great affection for. Signing with Al-Ahli Sana'a is both an honor and a new challenge. This club's natural place is always at the top and on the podium.'

Metbouli added that he came to reinforce a winning mentality and compete for all titles. His ambitions align with those of the management and the large fan base, which accepts nothing less than first place. He emphasized that they will work as one team to maintain the club's leadership and improve technical performance to meet fans' expectations.

Metbouli noted that he has been following Yemeni football for some time and confirmed that his main goal is to win the league title. He added that he had already met with the players and will work with full effort to achieve a new accomplishment for the club. At the end of the press conference, the club's Secretary-General presented the team's jersey to the new coach.

The conference was attended by several club officials, including Sports Director Adel Al-Ashwal, Scout Officer Hussein Tanttan, Assistant Financial Officer Samir Al-Hammadi, and Basketball Supervisor Ali Al-Darm.
