Al-bayda: The Governor of Al-Bayda, Abdullah Idris, today reviewed the progress of the renovation project for the tumor treatment unit at the Al-Thawra General Hospital Authority in Al-Bayda city.
According to Yemen News Agency, Governor Idris was accompanied by the Governorate Undersecretary Abdul Salam Al-Nusairi during his inspection. They were briefed by Dr. Nasser Al-Ajili, head of the Authority, on the details of the project, which has a budget of 17 million riyals provided by the Cancer Control Fund. This initiative marks the first tumor treatment and chemotherapy administration project at the governorate level. The renovation and rehabilitation of the building attached to the hospital authority have commenced.
During his visit, Governor Idris emphasized the critical need for completing the construction of the tumor treatment department. He highlighted the urgency of this health service due to the increasing prevalence of tumors. The governorate leadership, alongside the local authority, is focused on enhancing medical services in government hospitals, especially amid the challenges posed by the Saudi-American aggression and blockade. Governor Idris expressed confidence that these issues will be resolved through the leadership's wisdom and the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces and the citizens.
Governor Idris also called for the swift implementation and monitoring of medical device and equipment supplies. This will enable the hospital authority to offer essential services to tumor patients, allowing them to receive chemotherapy locally, thus avoiding the need to travel to the capital or abroad, which incurs additional health risks and financial burdens.
