Taiz: Al-Hikma University's Faculty of Medical Sciences in Al-Hawban, Taiz province, marked a significant milestone on Thursday with the graduation of its first cohort of 90 students from the Pharmacy and Nursing programs for the 2025-2026 academic year.
According to Yemen News Agency, the graduation ceremony witnessed Acting Taiz Governor Ahmed Al-Masawwi extend his congratulations to the graduates and their families. He praised their dedication and urged the new professionals to adhere to ethical standards, pursue further scientific advancements, and contribute positively to their communities. Al-Masawwi emphasized that the newly graduated pharmacists and nurses are poised to bolster the health sector and meet the increasing medical demands in Taiz and other provinces.
University President Dr. Mukhtar Dael highlighted that the graduates' success is a testament to years of rigorous study and training provided by the university's qualified academic staff. He noted that the graduates are now well-prepared to compete in the job market, reflecting the university's commitment to maintaining high academic standards. Dr. Dael also mentioned that the university has earned numerous local, regional, and international accreditations.
Dr. Salah Misfar, Chairman of the University of Taiz Board of Trustees, acknowledged the vital role of parents in supporting the students. He remarked on the university's significant academic progress, stating that Al-Hikma University is among Yemen's pioneering institutions to receive national academic accreditation for its Pharmacy, Information Technology, and Civil Engineering programs. Dr. Misfar added that the university is in the process of securing accreditation for its Medicine, Surgery, and Dentistry programs. Notably, it is the first private university in Yemen to administer a clinical skills examination for bachelor's students in Medicine and Surgery.
