Al-Hilal Claims Victory Over Shaab Sana’a in October 14 Cup

Al-hodeidah: Al-Hilal of Al-Hodeidah was crowned champion of the October 14 Cup today after defeating Shaab Sana'a 1-0 in the final match held this afternoon at Al-Ulfi Stadium in Al-Hodeidah.

According to Yemen News Agency, the match was organized under the supervision of the Governorate's Office of Youth and Sports, in coordination with the local branch of the Football Association, as part of the sporting events celebrating the 62nd anniversary of the October 14 Revolution.

The first half saw balanced play and possession between the two sides, with both teams exchanging control and attacks without finding the back of the net, ending in a goalless draw.

In the second half, Al-Hilal imposed its dominance, capitalizing on home advantage and strong fan support. The team intensified its offensive efforts, which were bravely repelled by Shaab's defense and goalkeeper.

In the 90th minute, player Abed Ahmed broke the deadlock with a powerful and surprising strike that found the net, securing Al-Hilal's victory and triggering celebrations throughout the stadium.

Following the match, the awarding ceremony took place in the presence of Deputy Governor Mohammed Halisi, Director of the Youth and Sports Office Imad Al-Barai, Secretary-General of the Football Association branch Ahmed Al-Rajawi, and Secretary-General of Al-Mina District Local Council Hassan Rasmi. The October 14 Cup was then presented to Al-Hilal, led by coach Mohammed Ftaini.
